Not happy... Seriously thinking of taking it back for a refund.

engine not as responsive when peddle 3/4 to the floor (let alone all the way to it...)

Yep... I don't see this condition turn around (and fast)... I'll take it back in two seconds & never consider another...

Hmmm

It's brand new... Performance "today" when I put the peddle to the floor is NOT what it was "yesterday" before I put it in...

I know what the "data" says... But there's some real-world field testing for ya...

Not happy here (so far)... like I say... there is a noticable difference in engine responsiveness... & to be honest, I don't know what to say about it right now... It is obviously the amount of air the intake is sucking in...

I reset the computer so I'll give it another week or two but if it doesn't kick down a gear or two when I "punch it" -- this damn thing is going back. I'm writing a letter to K&N & I'll ask them to replace the 'stock' filter I tossed in the garbage at Carquest...

** I'll even take the mail in rebate & screw them for 10 bucks!

This is bullspit!

{hope} This gives me hope that it's all because I reset the computer & need to give it a bit of time? {/hope}

I did the gotts... I'll set it back to stock for now... -- Maybe I cut the pipe too long or something??? Maybe It's sucking less air because I messed something up on that mod?...

Process of elimination here...

Thx, guys..

Haha... Now I wanna go out and do some more testing (again) but I just watched Miami own Dallas & I've had a few too many cocktails... (guess I'll have to wait longer, -- & save my rant for another day?) :rotflmao:

let it sit a while. also cut some off your gotts mod. that might help. im going to go get some 3" exhaust tubing to allow more air flow into mine. its smaller in diameter. or should i just cut some off my pipe. its a little dirty should i clean it first or just go get some new pipe? haha

i got 1mpg better in city with my drop in k&n and 1.5 better on highway. gotts mod increased city by .5 no highway tests yet. so altogether i have experienced 1.5mpg increase in city. o and my original filter was clean. i put the k&n in a week after i bought it and when i got the truck the used car dealership changed all fluids filters etc. and they threw on a new set of tires for me

i have heard people say that dry paper filters are capable of flowing more air etc but not true in my case plus i love the assurance of an oil filter. they work better and help stop water from going through filter as easy.

A little improvment in milage seems reasonable.

Not sure how to explain the difference (imo) with stock vs K&N filters??

Stock filter = quicker off the line but slower 1/4 time
K&N filter = slower off the line but quicker 1/4 time...

Not like I'm racing an expy :) but that's the best way to explain how the new filter 'feels'... & I'm clueless as to why? not that it matters I suppose but I don't know if it's -- more air, less air, better air, different (more efficient mix) etc... ? Oh well, the motor is starting to feel beefier, tighter... more bullet proof if you will, so I guess it's all good...
