I just recently installed a few addons on my Expy 4.6 to try to eliminate the problem of it being gutless. Mission accomplished, it's now driveable, not with that bus or ambulance feeling that a stock one brings. First upgrade I did was the air intake to let it breathe better. The Intake wasn't an easy install like putting an intake on cars or other engines I've played with, on an Expedition you have to remove the MAF sensors and there's a lot of tubing and mounts to remove. Once you get that out of the way the rest is cake, just putting together the new intake and bolting it all back in place. It's not a huge difference from this mod alone but I will say this, you can definitely feel more power, and also the sound is great, the air intake sound on the 4.6L finally lets you know there's a V8 under the hood. Again, not a turnkey solution for a huge difference but definitely noticeable. Total cost: $300 +/- Time to install: 2-3 hours
