Have 2 12 ft kayaks and 17 ft Grumman canoe. Looking for rack system for 2017 EL. Probable hitch support. Might be cheaper and easier to buy trailer

Have you tried any of the Yakima rack systems? I haul my 18' sea kayaks using Yakima racks. Basic system is a set of bars with towers. The mounts for kayaks and a canoe will prolly be different.
Thule is my choice. Both Yakima and Thule have MANY options for our trucks. I know Thule has a rack system builder on their website. Go take it for a spin, get your part numbers, then use Google to find them cheaper. REI runs specials on the gear every few months. Worth being patient. If you pay the price on the manufacturer website you paid WAY too much.

How long is the roof-line on our EL's? I would imagine it's plenty long enough to support most of a 12 foot kayak without any hitch support?

Kayaks can be carried on a Yugo...EL no problem.
