I'm beginning the process of searching for another good all-terrain tire for my 2002 Expedition, stock size of 265/70R17. Thought about going up to the 285/70R17, as well. I've narrowed it down to a few, but wanted opinions on a Kelly Springfield tire I learned about recently, the Safari TSR. I have had Kelly's on my Expedition before, but the tire I had (and loved) is no longer made, the Safari AWR. Has anyone run the Safari TSR on their Expedition or another vehicle? Looking for input on dry, wet & snow performance. It is a very aggressive tire indeed, perhaps too much for what I need. The others I'm considering are the Firestone Destination A/T, the BFG All-Terrain T/A and the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor.

Thanks, in advance, for any and all input!

I have a couple buddies that use the Nitto Terra Grapplers, and they love them. Not very loud on concrete and asphalt, but they are aggressive enough to get around for hunting and fishing. They have also had good luck in the snow over the past month.

I have the Safari TSR's and love them. I live in the middle of Montana so they have seen it all: snow, ice, mud, gravel, rain (sometimes all in the same day!) Anyhow, they are amazing. Best tires I have ever ran, not the cheapest- but also not the most expensive. I dont notice the noise and the look pretty gnarly too.

It is a great looking tire. And I see it is snow-rated, as well. I'll have to add that one to my list, too!
