So I just bought a replacement for my much-beloved '89 full-size bronco that I lost in the divorce!
2002 Expedition XLT, problem is I work in a bad neighborhood and this beast didn't come with an alarm.
Now I know if thieves want our truck they'll find a way, but my thought is if you can slow them down enough...yeah you may have to replace some things but you'll still have your truck!!
I'd like to put a kill switch on the battery, will it damage the electronics after a time?
Thanks for any help.

As in a total disconnect? It might hurt your fuel economy a bit since your PCM will have try to relearn the fueling strategy everytime it's reconnected.

It helps a bit that it has the PATS chip, where they need the key to run it, though I'm sure there's workarounds for that?

Either way, you could try, instead, cutting the fuel. If they can bypass the PATS, it would crank, but wouldn't turn over for lack of fuel. I think you can do this with the inertia switch, but I'd have to look it up (or they might be how-tos on other sites?).

You're better off interrupting the power to the fuel pump. I don't think the inertia switch can be tripped by pressing the button. That is just a reset in case it gets tripped in an accident.
