....you, sir or madam, are under the false impression that all present have some notion of what an aggie is.

Alas, I do not. And I doubt I'm alone in this.
Haha...fair point.

I am a he and an Aggie is someone that went to the greatest institution of higher learning in the greatest state in the union...Texas A&M. The colors of which are maroon and white. So maroon interiors are my jam.

("A&M" stands for "Agricultural and Mechanical". "Aggie" is short for "Agricultural". Many Ag/Mech schools across the country use "Aggie" as the shorthand to refer to their students.)

I loved my 2016 F-150 King Ranch but needed more room for the family and went from 2 car payments to 1 when I got my 2018 Expedition. If they had this in 2018, id of bought this. Love the colors.

If an Aggie went to Texas A&M, what’s a sea Aggie? (Hint: I already know the answer, just asking/educating the unknowing)

I know! I know! Pick Me! Pick Me!

(I mean...I sure hope its an A&M Galveston grad as that what we call them. If it's not, this is really embarrassing.)

Whaaaaaat?

This burgundy-meets-platinum (+ a squiggley armrest) sh!te again, like the late years of 3rd gen?

Screw dat, where's the saddle leather look???

Saddle leather was last used on the 2nd gen (03-06), they then switched to Chaparral leather in the 3rd gen because of the addition of cooled seats.

So.... it's like USC for people afraid of tuition, liberals, and colored people living past the campus fence?

Is the Chaparral leather different than the standard leather in any way other than color? Or is it just a color change?

I ask because the saddle leather that was originally on the KR way-back-when was aMAYzing.

It’s definitely a step up from the Eddie Bauer/Limited Leather. Most you can feel the difference between the vinyl and leather parts by hand. The KR used more genuine leather on the seats and on all 3 rows vs just 2.

Got it, thank you. The Platinum leather is definitely an improvement on the Limited leather, but it is only in the first two rows; third row is Sensatec or pleather or vinyl or activex or whatever FoMoCo calls fake leather these days.

If they are following tradition I would guess the KR will have a genuine leather 3rd row. Yes, this is a quote from the ford media article.

“Inside, the use of premium Del Rio leather extends over all three rows of seats, and more.”

Well Lord knows the third row MUST have Del Rio leather...my children and dogs just can NOT sit on leatherette.

Hahahaha.

Thanks for answering all my questions. Obviously the KR was not available when I bought my platinum in 2018, and I always assumed it would never be on my radar as I don't like the traditional KR two-tone, but given they're not doing the two-tone here, I would seriously consider the KR over the platinum if I were shopping right now...that's a good looking interior. Would definitely miss the massaging seats tho.

that was the beauty of it! that saddle leather couldnt be touched IMO. this new Del Rio pales in comparison. i would choose this new color over the ceramic in my platinum if it was available but would not get a KR over a Plat and DEFINITELY not loose the messaging seats!
