Hi all, I have not been on in a while, I read several threads that did not address my particular problem.

1. My 2001 Expedition, 4.6 2wd od trans has several leaks, i will explain.

First leaks was the front seal, it was replaced about six months before I purchased the vehicle, I have owned it 3 months.

Then the trans pan formed a leak, I replaced trans pan gasket with genuine ford parts, made sure pan sealing surface was flat and re-installed.

A few days later the pan gasket was leaking again, re-torqued bolts, no more leak.

Now the tail shaft seal is leaking, dropped driveshaft, removed seal and inspected for any defects. Installed new seal, and drove for a few weeks and it started to leak again at the tail shaft seal. Now I am about to install a second seal, inspection of driveshaft revealed no groove in shaft or obvious damage. Tail shaft of trans inspected, no defects apparent. Not sure what to do next and any ideas will be appreciated. Last thing the drive shaft yoke is solid and drivshaft was marked before removal and installed in same position.
