The lift gate on my 2020 just started acting up. It will open and close from the key fob, the button on the dash and the button by the license plate but will not close by the button on the the tailgate. Any ideas?

Just take it in and get them to look at it. Ours (2019) kept on closing and bonking us on the head when we are loading/unloading. They said it was a grounding problem and fixed it in a couple of hours.

Probably the liftgate button being stuck. Many of us have had this issue. Try pressing the button, then press on the "ridge" just to the right of it and let us know if that works.

Yes, that's what I've found with mine. Is there a permanent fix or warranty fix that anyone knows of?

Funny enough, mine recently failed the night before taking it in for the crappy phaser fix. Showed the tech, and he immediately tried several things, nothing worked, so he said he'll replace it. Said he's doing several of them a week these days.

Problem is, that was a month ago, and it started doing it again this last week. Had to use the fob to close the liftgate. But the next morning it was working fine again. What a piece. Has anyone disassembled one of these? Curious if there's a "safety" feature that disables the button in certain conditions but is acting up. Just don't understand how the new switch could fail in a month. It's not like I punch it every time.

First time my button on the bottom of the tailgate stuck they replaced the button. Lasted 2 weeks. After researching here it seemed the real problem was the plastic housing. Dealer ordered that and another button to be sure and no problems for last 6 months. I also killed the foot activated switch that would activate when I was hitching up the trailer.

It is definitely a design issue, the temps here have been around zero, plus or minus a few. The plastic must be expanding as the button is essentially dead, you can feel that it won't even move when pressed. Funny thing is, if you bang on the plastic molding around the button, it will activate.

Try spaying some electrical quick disconnect cleaner on it. Then press it multiple times until you can feel it going in and out freely. Mine was sticking about 6 months ago and hasn’t stuck again since I used the cleaner.
