Locked in Park

Sometimes when I'm parked on a hill (even just a slight one), I can't take it out of park without rocking my 2003 Ford Expedition. Is this a common problem? I never experienced this problem with my 2000 Expedition.

Yeah, I thought it was weird too. It's hard to get it out of park like you are going to yank the shifter out of the steering column. What I do now is to just put the parking brake on before I put it in park, and it is much easier. Anyone have any suggestions or is this normal?

Yea- toots called in a panic from her work. Couldn't get it out of park.

She'd let the tranny rest on the stop and since the truck is that heavy, she had to give it some force.
