A small gold necklace slid down inside the center console when the cup holder door was opened. I'm looking for advice on the best method to retrieve it. This is not the same issue that lots written on regarding phones and credit cards slipping into the abyss at the very front of the console where the wirelss charger and USB ports are located.

buy a new console you can buy a secondhand console or try to fix it Not sure what you are trying to say? Do you find it acceptable new vehicles are having this problem? Think most are frustrated with quality and are expressing concern at some of the "short cuts" or lack of quality control...

Really? That center piece just pops out, no screws… nothing?!
It provided what I needed. The short summary is that if you open the console storage lid and look at the forward edge you can see where the cup holder assembly lays over it. Grab the two corners and lift up and the whole assembly can be removed. No tools, took seconds. Thanks.Believe this link might be the answer.
