lower ball joint help

i just bought a 2000 exy took it to get inspected and it failed because of a bad lower ball joint. after doing some research and looking in my chilton book it looks like i need to change the full control arm. is this right? how hard is this todo? how hard is it to get the torsion bar off?

Not sure about a 00, but I did my 98s lowers without changing the arm. Had to rent the balljoint press from Autozone.

You can definitely replace the ball joint without replacing the arm.
