Hello,
I would like to put 22" mags with nice sporty tires on my 09 expedition. I will be towing 10-15 times a year during the summer, my trailers is 27' and 5,000LBS.

Is this OK, or do I need to care about the type of tire/mag I put on my truck for towing?

Any reccomendations?
Thanks

Check the tire load rating, and that will tell you what you can tow. I believe you can just multiply the rating by 4, subtract the GVWR of the loaded vehicle, and the remaining is what you can tow safely. Lower profile tires will not tow as much as a 17 or 18 tire with a 70/75 sidewall.

FWIW, I have 24's on my 08 and I have a boat that weighs about 5K with fuel. My truck did ok towing it last time I was in Az. I only towed it about 20 miles though.
