To make my point clearer:
A Porsche 911 has the engine behind the axle, its a rear engine but not a mid-engine. Unlike a typical Ferrari.
It DOES matter how and engine and where it is installed. Not just position but also if its "crossways" (don't know the English word) or the long way.
A lot of modern cars have engine in front of front axle. Our expy dont... So hence I argue we have a mid-engine car....

You could now argue if its a front-mid engine....which is true, but still "mid-engine" which means engine between axles...."mid-engine" does NOT define if in front or behind driver....

In the 80s the world rally sport had these crazy Group B cars. Look at a recent Jay Leno episode where he drives a Lancia. Walter Röhrl, a world champion, advocated that Audi builds the Quattro as a Front-mid engine car. However. the Quattro short was a "standard" front engine and could not hold the water against Peugeot and Lancia which were "rear-mid" concepts.

And my C3 Corvettes engine sits behind the front wheels also and is not a mid engine car.
Front wheels used as the drive wheels are best described as wrong wheel drive.

On that list you will see the Viper, the Corvette (gen's 2 thru 7), the F150 with the 3.5 Ti-VCT V6 motor, and other vehicles you wouldn't normally think of as mid-engined...but they are.

And you can order a Porsche Taycan Turbo even though it doesn't have a turbo....or an engine.
So it's obvious that relying on automobile manufacturers to know what english words mean is a losing proposition.

This is a stupid discussion, however, because FMR is generally considered a subset of FR, meaning a front mid-engined vehicle is also a front-engined vehicle.
