Hey guys I've been having a problem for some time now. I have a 2014 Ford Expedition Limited e l. Sometimes the vehicle runs just fine but it seems a little lacking in power. Other times I'm shocked that it still even running it is shaking so bad. That's when I get the flashing engine light. There has also been times that it runs pretty good and the engine light has gone out completely. But that is rare. Seems to run the worst when I am at highway speed for a while and I rapidly decelerate to a standstill.

I don't remember the code numbers but I get most of them all say misfires and random misfires and also there was some for camshaft sensor.

I brought it to the Ford dealer they told me I had some scoring on my cam caps and they said I need a new engine. I changed the camshaft sensors. All the spark plugs were changed and coils.
I'm just not so sure I agree with their diagnosis. Why would the truck run pretty good sometimes and on occasion the light go out completely and it run perfectly fine. And other times seems like it's running on 3 cylinders. Thanks for the help in advance

It indeed does sound like it's running on 3, and prob is if it's shaking that badly. I would suggest that if you have the skillset required, that you do your own diagnosis and find out which cylinders are not firing correctly.

From my experience on motorcycle engines and their cams and sensor setups, its impossible to have cam journals or their inserts to be so worn as to prevent proper timing to the extent of preventing ignition, and still be running. The resulting "flop" would self-destroy the cam itself in most cases I believe.

Hopefully some others, smarter than me will chime in for you, be patient.
