This falls under the genre of just too funny. As many of you know, I recently exceeded 37K on my '17 so it's officially out of the initial factory warranty. Right about this same time about 3 weeks ago, I begin to notice an "electrical sounding" noise from the rear seat whenever I applied the brakes at low speeds. It sounded like a small electric motor coming on for .25 to .5 seconds......almost like a short throw solenoid valve or something.

For the life of me, I couldn't figure out what the heck could be back there to cause that sound. Yesterday, Kerry came over to drive me to the Dr after a sleepless (therefore unsafe) weekend. She's driving my truck and as she stops for the light, I hear it! Now, it's time to find out what it is so I'm leaning back over the seats and she's tapping the brake.....and I see, a pair of dress slacks hanging from the hanger above the rear door behind the driver....and everytime the track stopped, the hanger swung fore and aft, making the most electrical sounding noise........

Sorry to hear about the sleeplessness again Jeff, rest up. One problem at a time, at least you solved the noise one. I had a similar concern, I kept hearing what sounded like the click of a relay in the rear of my truck...... it was a bag with a shoebox in it hiding in the 3rd row.

Yeah guys, this insomnia crap has been going on since Nov. Apparently I have sleep apnea since we can't seem to apportion the whole "stops-breathing-12-times-an-hour-for-up-to-2-minutes-at-a-time", thing any other way<LOL> but that enters the dark world of medical goods....and it doesn't matter how much money you have or how well you are insured, it's taking forever to get a machine.

They did give my a new drug combo Mon so for 2 nights in a row, I've gotten 4-4.5 hrs so I feel like a new man....that's just sad....when 4 hrs of sleep is a blessing? Aw well, it's a rabbit hole of depression if you let yourself fall into it...thankfully, "depression" has never been an issue for me but I will warn you for who it is....taking large amounts of sleeping meds can cause very sudden and profound depression....I'm talking like driving to work at 4:30am and all of a sudden, feeling like the most upset you've ever felt.....tearing up over a relationship that ended 30yrs ago, or feeling REALLY guilty over beating up a kid, WHEN I was a kid!
For me, I knew it was an illusion, but what about for someone who doesn't realize that at the moment it occurs? Scary!

I guess I'm lucky I'm with Kerry....it's tough not to be the happiest man in the world.....and it's letting my humor remain for the most part....cause I thought that noise puzzle was funny as heck!

@jeff kushner - Sorry to hear you are still going through that. If I want to fall asleep all I have to do is try to read a book. The eyes go shut and the book falls out of my hands.

I think if I was going through what you are, I would be tempted to take John Belushi's advice...

I am fanatical about gear adrift in my cars. Drives me nuts, especially a tube of lipstick rolling back forth in the front passenger door cubby. I used to have a 31' RV, and did most driving late at night. For years, once I got into that "dream state" while driving I'd start to hear a 'ching-ching' sound, very faint, whenever I hit a bump or a gap in a concrete road. I thought it was just me. Drove me crazy, but I didn't say anything to anyone. Then one day I was cleaning out the 'basement' and dropped a box on the driveway....CHING-CHING. Turned out it was a string of Christmas jingle bells that had been forgotten.

Straight to the garbage can.
