Usually when you put big tires on your mileage suffers quite a bit. I only have 500 miles on mine so far since I picked it up last Friday. I did a 250 mile round trip with the cruise set at 72 mph. I got 21.8 mpg going down and 20.3 mpg on the return trip. The on board calculator was showing 21 mpg for the complete trip. I did a manual calculation and got 20.8 mpg. I can live with that, it may even improve a bit as it breaks in.

'18 Limited run in standard mode I get 18 mpg but my 30 mile (15 each way) commute into town is all 40-45 mph roads. I drive it easy as well.

I just leased a '19 Ex Max Ltd 4x4 w/22s and I'm lucky to get 12mpg city, nowhere near the rated mpg. Not sure if it's the stop and go traffic of LA or my driving. I typically will be in 2wd and don't really mash the pedal. Also put 91 gas in.

Two things kill mileage. Boost, and rear end ratio.
I think the question should be preceded by what rear end ratio do you have?
Our truck runs 3:31, and I’m averaging 17-18, but can squeak out low 20’s when running 65 and light pedaled zero boost.

Not since the 70's actually, we have been metric since then. So most of the younger generations probably don't know about it. Us old farts still use both.

I have posted this before but it has been a while so there is more data now. Fuelly.com compiles user data to show what mpg people are actually getting. No, it is not the most robust data set ever and it is self-reported data, so take it for what it is. I also didn't parse the data to differentiate between trim levels, axle ratio, etc. Anyway:
Based on data from 51 vehicles, 1,562 fuel-ups and 519,072 miles of driving, the 2018 Ford Expedition gets a combined Avg MPG of 16.75 with a 0.11 MPG margin of error.
Based on data from 22 vehicles, 257 fuel-ups and 73,657 miles of driving, the 2019 Ford Expedition gets a combined Avg MPG of 15.79 with a 0.49 MPG margin of error.

This just shows that how you drive impacts fuel economy. Over 20K miles, using calculated figures, I'm averaging over 20MPG. This in a Max XLT AWD, combined City/Highway. I'd like to drive 65MPH on cruise control for one full tank. But, that would take me close to 700 miles. Hard to do that.

I would say the data for 2018 is pretty darn close for combined city and highway driving (50-50). The ones that drive more highway will average higher and the reverse for more city. (IMHO) The data for 2019's are kind of all over the place, not enough data to smooth it out yet. No change to the truck really so they should end up the same.
