Greetings from new member: Originated from Saratoga Springs, NY, immigrated to northeast Florida 20 years ago. 70+ year old "kid", I like drone-flying/photography, kayak fishing, wood-working, hanging out with my best friend and wife who also likes to fish. Bought my Expedition about 4 months ago to pull our 17' Coleman RV. Love it...BUT...
Twice now in the past week while driving my 2014 Expedition at approx. 60 MPH, transmission shifting seemed to "hang" between shifts, engine RPM "hung" at 3000.
After a couple of seconds or so, the refuel light and gas tank light appeared, immediately followed by the wrench light. This was soon followed by the the tire pressure monitor fault, and the speedometer stopped working. Speedometer may have stopped working in the beginning, but so much else going on, may have missed that.
As mentioned before, this "anomaly" has occurred twice in this past week.
TODAY, a more scary" anomaly occurred. Was driving 55-60 MPH, not under load but cruising when, suddenly, the engine RPM jumped to 6000 RPM as if the engine and transmission had disengaged from each other. Then, the rear tires seemingly locked up, slowing the car drastically from 60 MPH down to 40, squealing the back tires- almost as if the car had been momentarily put into PARK. Then, as quickly as all this started, everything went back to normal...no warning lights, engine and transmission returned to normal.
