I know parts of this has been covered by numerous posts, but I need some help.
I recently purchased a 2003 5.4 4x4 with 126k miles. Recently I have noticed saucer-sized coolant puddles every couple days. Leak seems to be coming from the top or backside of the engine near the firewall and running down near the starter/bell housing. I don't see anything up top, I checked all the places mentioned in other posts but am hoping for some advice before I start throwing parts at it. I have checked under pressure, but it only seems to leak after system has cooled down. I pulled the alternator, no puddles in the valley but not exactly dry; more of a sludge. I have pulled both front coils and they are dry. Oil and coolant both seem fine, liquid from exhaust pipe is only water. Heat works, and I don't smell coolant inside the cabin. Is this more than likely an intake manifold, and possibly the pipe that runs underneath the intake to the backside of the water pump?
Any help would be much appreciated.
