With past dealings with glasspacks on old hotrods. They sound sweet. Their is nothing like the sound and feel of one under the truck.. I found that they did nothing more the be loud. It took mine 6 months to a year to "break in" and sound better. Then after that they wore out. It seemed to me that with glasspacks. The low end was not their.

I would recommend going with like flowmaster 40 or 70 series muffler. They have the sound plus help the engine. Back pressure, They help fuel millage, and what nots. Depending on what type of sound you want would depend on what series you get. I have heard that the 40 series could have a drone sound to it. My buddy has flowmaster super 44 under his expy, with free flowing universal cats. It sounds great. He also gets great millage with it. The stock system he was getting 10 around town and 15 on freeway (he has sepctra CAI, accel coils and plugs. everything else is stock.) Now he gets 12 around town and 20 on freeway. He also has alot of off the line power.

On mine I removed the two rear cats, and the giant single inlet/outlet muffler. I Then ran dual 2.5" pipes from the converters into a dual inlet/single 3" outlet muffler. I'm using a Spintech brand muffler, the same brand used by most circle track racers whenever they're forced to race in a town that requires mufflers. They claim to flow almost the same as a piece of straight pipe, and have an awesome sound. I'll have to figure out how to post a quick video of mine, I love em. The mpg went up, there's no "droan" on the highway, and it's real throaty. Idle is silent, but acceleration is loud.

Im with Walnuts I love my 40 series mufflers. and yes they do have a drone to them at times but that was the reason I put those on my truck, I like that drone and I like being loud and letting everyone else in traffic know that Im coming through. they improved my fuel mileage in the city and the truck has alot of take off power now, love the low end torque.

I am running a stright pipe on mine and it sounds perfect to me. It is very mellow and growls pretty good when you get on it. I am very happy with the classic note it has. I plan to leave it that way and maybe just cut the rear y pipe and run the true dual out the back with no mufflers.
