Hi guys needing some help here i have a 97 expedition 5.4l xlt 4x4 i was recently forced to go through some flood water that was that just barley reached my running boards (my truck is stock height) and she stalled right before making it out of the water me and a friend was able to push her out of the water and i had no choice but to start her to get it home she started ran like hell but soon as i got it home i drained the oil and transmission fluid let it sit and drain over night today i replaced the filters and fluids got in it and she fired right up has the power she once did shifts fine now but she has developed a knock i drove it around the block once i got back home i realized the knock is very very slight now any ideas could it just be a fouled plug or coil pack i'm gonna run it to the part store tomorrow and have the codes checked but just trying to get other opinions

If it was honestly that shallow, I would be surprised if you had a coil/ignition problem because if it. You probably shorted your electrical in some way, and the sensors are all over the place, and thus, what you are experiencing.

Just a guess for you.

I agree with this. Unlikely to be on the top of engine. Does it knock when at idle or only when moving?

Invest in a mechanics stethoscope and give it a listen. Word of advice, don't smack the probe against anything while listening...

How fast were you going ? Could it have gotten in your intake? Just an idea, don't know if you crept through it or hit it wide open.
