Need tire help!

ok so ive ran into a problem. im currently running 265/70/17 tires on stock 2004 eddie bauer rims i want to upgrade to 285/70/17 because i have a 3" front lift 2" back lift. im not worried about the hieght but some one told me they wont fit due to the width? i want to keep stock rims.

they'll fit. Im pretty sure I saw someone on here that did it. I don't think you should go any bigger on stock. I wanted to do 315/70 on my stock rims but with wide tires on skinny rims the tires wont wear right.

sorry i didn't see this before. im running 285/70/17 on stock rims. no problems.
