2004 expy 5.4 - need a new fuel pump assembly

AIRTEX

BOSCH

DELCO

DELPHI

OTHER?

need to know it's going to fit nicely without any need for mods plus something solid with good reputation thats not going to crap out on me in a year. hearing bad things about aittex but it's cheap (around $150) and the Bosch is double that...don't know about the OEM parts but lots of folks seem to think OEM is the way to go..I think DELCO and
DELPHI are OEM??

Bosch is what my friend used to replace his and he says its high quality, for a price.. But otherwise I'd say Delco.

guy just called and says the OEM is motorcraft and that it's $310 plus the labor and plugs so comes to about $510 total. Hows that sound and is motorcraft decent and indeed the OEM? Thanks guys you're a big help i'd be lost without this forum.

Also one other thing he's suggesting a drain and fill on the tranny. Guessing this is a good idea since i don't have history on the vehicle. Said he was just going to replace the fluid in the pan (about 1/4 of the total fluid). This sound good? Any other instructions I should give him and how much should the drain and fill cost?

Its a hit or miss with the drain. Some guys say its a bad idea others say to do it. I will tell you that my service guy, who I know personally advised me against it.

weather or not its a good idea to flush out the tranny. If you have no problems then dont do it.

we weren't talking about a flush. I was already told that was a bad idea cause it can drive debris up into the lines. We were just talking about a drain and fill.

Sorry... walbro doesnt make a complete fuel pump assembly for the 2005 ford expy. Just checked and could not find any.

If you think your expy is bad on gas check out this you tube video of just one cylinder of a top fuel motor.

fuel pump... i'd probably go with motorcraft or whatever was cheap...lol...

but for tranny I would drop the pan and replace the filter and only allow with drip out of the pan to come out... that way you will have a mix of new and old so it will trick the tranny into not realizing the new fluid is in there... do not do a tranny flush though..
