Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been looking for a decent SUV for long trips and mild off reading. After much searching I found a pretty decent 2000 Eddie Bauer model with 177000 miles. Aside from the minor annoyances (stuck sunroof, stuck rear gate), it's a really good specimen.
It appears the previous owner replaced the rear airbags with coils, but left the front shocks alone, so now my immediate plans is finding out what works best for the front other than the Monroe 58518's, especially if the next step is a budget 3/2 lift with a body lift. That, or figuring out which 4" F150 lift will work. I've had Bronco's, Land Rovers, etc. in the past, so I'm not new to 4x4's, just new to reliable 4x4's
Short term plans:
Replace shocks
Fix sunroof
Fix rear gate
Prepare it for road trips
Long term:
6" total lift

I finally registered because I've finally ran into enough questions that I can't find an answer to.
