New here, need help with a noise

I just obtained a 99 EB AWD with 165k on it. Don't know much about the maint history except for oil changes and repairs when needed. I am noticing a noise while driving...it sounds like I am dragging a chain on the ground, and can only hear it when the windows are down. Last year all of the ball joints were replaced in the front end with allignment done. Could the bearings need to be replaced?

does it sound like metal on metal? Kinda like a jingle?

pretty much. It isn't too loud, but loud enough. I have heard another one making the same noise as well.

I had this happen in the front left tire of mine and it turned out to be the cotter pin in the axle right in the center of the tire! Check that out! I was amazed that that little piece of metal made such a loud jingle!
