We have a user forum attachment limit, which you don't want to use up in posting if you want to add your rig to your Gallery.
Like FREEWAY said, 3rd party hosting sites are fine and you are only limited by what their storage rules are. The will also give you the ability to scale them down if they are ginormous to make the more forum friendly.
