Just bought a 2017 XLT with only option being the HD tow package. Was looking for a tow vehicle for my 21' Escape fiberglass trailer (4500lb usual loaded weight). Been using my son's 2017 F150 Crew Cab w/ 2.7 EB, but wanted to not rely 100% on him even though I'm usually packing along his two daughters.
The F150 is a great vehicle for towing small trailers, but I don't like the size for non-towing uses. Was looking at the new Colorado, but the wait is long, and there are a lot of unknowns, including the price. Got to looking at used Expeditions and figured that it had a lot of pluses for me. My biggest concern is the 1522lb payload on the one I bought, as I often came with 100lbs of the F150's 1760lb payload. Concentrating on taking less and/or lighter stuff. Anyway, looking forward to being part of this group.
