Hi all, I've tried looking through and looking for the same question, but was somewhat unsuccessful. So I am looking at selling my 22" OEM Stealth rims and was looking at going for a somewhat more AT tread in the Toyo Open Country AT3's. I was thinking of going with a 285/55R20 which is very close to the factory 20" specs, hardly changes speed at all. So I was first looking at putting them on my current winter rims because we like the look of them so much, but not sure they are best suited to the more aggressive tread/sidewalls. Current rims are 20x9 Asanti ABL25 in Black Gloss. I "believe" they are a +30 offset.

So first question, do you think they would look good on these rims, or am I just thinking too much into it (as my wife always says I do, although it is her that is actually questioning it, and I am not that proficient in photoshop!)

We then started thinking about just buying another set of rims and keeping the Asanti's as winter, and found one that we like, but its a 20x10 with an -18 offset. I see the Toyo OC AT3's are approved for 8-10" rim widths, but wondering if there is a downside to being on one extreme of that approval, but more so I am worried about the possible poke and rubbing of of the tires. Any thoughts from those who understand this all better than I, would be greatly appreciated. I did see the one post that the member had a -24 offset and that is definitely more poke than the look I am wanting to achieve. Oh, and yes, this is mostly about looks, we do go 'offroad' but it is more trail than any sort of actual offroad.

Thanks for all you help!
Derrick

summary of questions

1 - Open Country AT3's will look good on current rims?

2 - 20x10 -18 offset rim will or won't work?

3 - Negative aspects, if any, of having a 10" wide rim when tire is approved for maximum 10" wide?

I'd go 18 or even 17 for AT tires. Stock 18" size is 275/65R18, and I think there's a /70 size too.

My 2019 "Stealth" with 18s... These are F150 take-offs that still have the crappy stock Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT OEM tires from said F-150, I'll be putting BFG KO2 on here as soon as I can justify it.PXL_20230915_203532196.jpg

If I were here, you would know it !
IMHO, 22's & 20's are no go for trail/off-roading, due to the limited sidewall height available to you, which can very easily translate to damaged rims/hubs/bearings etc.

So I suggest you go with 18's (like the Geek's above) for the best overall combo of ride/protection/wear & tear on your suspension, but I've always thought that 17's look silly on such a large vehicle, unless it is used only for 95% rough off-roading. Hell, even my wife's Acadia came stock with 19's, and it's a considerably smaller, narrower & lighter vehicle...
