I currently have an '03 Eddie Bauer Expedition in the Black with the gold trim. I am looking into getting 20" wheels and tires on it but the wife (her vehicle) wants to get some big mud tires. I have been looking for some pics of tires and wheels mounted on the EB becuase I do not think that the off road tires will look good on an EB. I think that they would look great on and XLT however. Can anyone of you point me into the right directions to see some pics. I showed her the pics of the Morning Wood Expedition and she loved it. Can someone tell me if that was lifted any and what size tires they were. Thanks a bunch.

What is the Morning Wood Expedition?

Sounds kinda sexual... Not sure if I really want to see it, if you know what I mean...

Morning Wood I believe is his profile name. I believe it is an 03 XLT Expedition with a 4" lift and maybe 35" tires. I am still trying to find out more info but it seems that this board is not very active. Oh well I still have time till I get the wheels and tires. I

Actually, this forum is quite active, but you need to ask the right questions.

"MorningWood" is a member profile name, but he might not have logged on recently to see your request.

If you go to the top of this forum's page, you will see a button for "MEMBERS", go to this link on the forum, and then link through the "M" and you will see MorningWood. He has an email that you can use, which he may reply to your questions directly.

In terms of the EB and mud tires.....why won't it look great? I have oversized AT's on mine (not 35's though), and it looks great. These are Ford Expeditions we are talking about, and meant to look like a 4x4, so I say bravolingus for your wife and her tastes.

If you wish to see Exby pics, cruise through the members section, and you will see plently, and you may wish to do a google search.

Wow. Now that is the kind of information that I am looking for. I did a google search last night and found some nice pics of Expedition pics with big tires but nothing on sizes. I guess I will just have to flag down one when I see one that I like and ask them about the tires. I also checked out the member pics on this sight and thought that they were very nice. A lot of good customizing going on out there and I want to be a part of it.

Here is a list of what we want to do.
Big Tires (maybe Mickey's or BF G's)
Wheels
Bug Guard
Window Vent Shields
After market exhaust ( Gibson or Flowmaster) once they become available.
Deer Guard powder coated to match the gold on our EB Black/Gold 03

Info is what we are all about.

Regarding your list:

- Go with the BFG's
- Wheels, well I don't know. I kinda liked the stock rims that came with the truck...a good meaty look
- Bug guards, cheap add on....tons out there...10 minute install
- Vent Shades....same as above
(both the bug guard and vent shades were my first add-on)
- exhaust...I'm waiting 'till I need one, and then going with a Borla stainless steel unit so its lasts forever
- Grill guard (I want to protect the grill NOT the deer), great idea to color match it!!!!

Other items:
- brake upgrade to ceramics to keep dust down and wheels clean
- SHOCKS!!! Bigger tires need better shocks, and a steering stabilizer will help out as well

I am sure you will come up with a larger list as you lurk on the forums.

Good Luck

Excellent. Thanks RW.

I am sure that the more I read the more I get Ideas. That is how I got started on my motorcycle.

I look forward to joining in on the group forum.

How do you do that here? We don't have galleries here do we? :(

Now I know about the MW Expy. Very nice. Something I'd like to do myself. But I find myself looking to mod things that are a bit more functional right now.

1. Hooks or something for garbage bags. (Got 4 kids ya know)
2. A light for the very dark console.
3. Straps for my nonpowered 3rd seats so that I can pull them up from the rear of the truck and not have to get at them from behind the second row.
4. Skid plates. I actually go off road.

Very nice!

I think I'll do something similar.

On my Excursion I used a light from a Coleman cooler that would come on when the lid was opened. It worked well but I would rather have something different this time around.

I think I'll make it so the light is activated by lifting the lid.

Thanks for the link!
