Hey all. New to this site. I have a 2001 Epedition XLT 4x4 which I purchsed used 1 year ago. I have slowly been trying to fix some minor things and am starting to trun into a few questions. I have a very competent mechanic that has dealt with Expeditions for a long time and is familiar with them, but I will be leaving the area soon and will be on my own.
One problem I have is that the Odometer is intermittent and will cause me a problem registering the vehicle in PA when I move (did it in NC also, but it finally stayed on long enough for the inspection). Any suggestions on whether I need to change the cluster or is it something else?
Also the other day when driving on the highway (around 70 mph) the odometer was working and I caught a glimpse of what appeared to be "ret" spelled out in the odometer. Has anyone ever heard of that as I cannot find anything on this?
I will admit I have driven mainly Chevy's my whole life as has my father, but I am very pleased with the Expedition and it has already reached the level of my best vehicle ever (especially compared to the newer vehicles out there).
I am also looking for some information about my own as it was a conversion vehicle. It is labeled as a GT model by D'Elegant. Anyone have any experience with this. All I can tell about it so far is that it has Capt's chairs for the second row (which I love) and that they changed leather seats and the alarm system. Anything else anyone can tell me I would be appreciated.
