I wish I took my camera in my expy for some videos. Maybe next time. I took it out tonight just playing and it was a blast. OMG the eaton just loves it when you punch the throttle. Talk about throttle response!!! My A4wd is active and must say it works great....cant hear it come in but when I punched it, it just took off pulling hard with no wheel spin. I know I will end up breaking something but its just too much fun to resist. :pepper::pepper: I adjusted my second gear shift point to 5500 and it pulls hard all the way up. Now I want to take it to the track because I am curious. I was hoping for high 13's with my initial set up but had my doubts with "only" 8.5 psi boost. Guessing based on hp and weight low 14's. But after playing with it tonight I believe 13's may just be possible. I dunno.....its hard to judge since my stang runs low tens but the expy is feeling pretty strong.

Might have to sneak it into the track tomorrow:uhoh2:

When I bought my I Expy I had this swap in mind and this thread gives me motivation! I had a 1992 Thunderbird SC with the eaton M90 supercharger on a 3.8L pushrod V6 and it had gobs of torque. Those superchargers are pretty much bulletproof. I had a dry ice tray and 10% pulley tho..........

Well took the expy to the track today. Weather sucked and almost did not go because of it. Looked and felt like rain out. Hot and humid. It eventually did get rained out but I got several passes in first.

Well on my first pass it felt like it launched pretty well. But then it did not pull smoothly and felt real lazy. 1st to 2nd shift was good at 5,500 rpms but 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th was way to early. It felt down on power. I attribute this to the weather and the lack of being able to use my killer chiller. It would drip condensation on the track if used. It ran much better the previous night on the street!! Need race valve for the killer chiller. It cuts off the interior a/c sending all the cooling to intercooler so no condensation. After my pass I was just hoping it was at least in the 14's as it felt like a $hitty pass to me. To my surprise when I picked up my timeslip it had just run a 14.07 @ 94.65 mph.

Before my 2nd pass I increased my 2nd to 3rd shift point 4 mph. Forgot about the 3rd to 4th gear. It felt just as $hitty but it ran a 14.10 @ 95.33 mph. I think the increase in mph was due to the shift point but the weather was getting worse so e.t. slowed.

I did try adding some timing and it just slowed it down so timing was put back to original tune. Then we got rained out. I feel like if I got the tune dialed in it would be in the 13's with the present setup...even in $hitty weather. Think I will get a wide band sensor so I can accurately monitor and datalog pass to make adjustments.

Overall I was happy as it ran about what I expected and nothing broke. :) I was dissappointed in the fact I know it runs much better on the street ( with killer chiller) It was also tuned with the killer chiller by my tuner so I believe this is why it felt off... might have to do another tune without for track purposes or get killer chiller race valve so it can be run at the track effectively.

The 2 passes on the left are from the expy. The lone 10 second timeslip is from my stang just for comparison. :)

More boost and dialing in the tune and I will shoot for the 12's. Maybe I will have the 1st 12 second expy ?! I would consider a 12 second expy a legitimate sleeper. No one would expect a 5600 pound beast to run those kind of numbers.
