Hello everyone. I have a 99 Eddie Bauer Expedition with 87k on it. I have the automatic climate control and I don't get any cool or cold air when I turn the temp down it blows warm/hot all the time. Any ideas what this could be? A temperature sensor of some sort? The engine temp is in the normal range.

Thanks,
Steve

Is your compressor clutch cycling very quickly? That is a pretty sure sign you have a leak & the refrigerant is low.

It is possible that your blend door is stuck at the hot position - could be either a vacuum or mechanical issue. Are you getting any temp variance with the temp control knob?

It doesn't blow cool even with it on vent, which the air compressor shouldn't cycle in the vent mode. But even if it needed charged it would still blow cool with it as cold outside as it is. I am thinking it may be a blend door also. I am just getting other opinions.

sounds like deicing switch which can be jumpered to get cold a/c. Or replace it (evaporator discharge air temperature sensor)

look at the blend door actuator under the center of the dash. If it appears to be working normally check the D shaped hole on the blend door actuator itself for cracks

Air conditioning compressors consists of pressurized refrigerants. If there is cool or no cold air blowing you need to check on that and replaced.
