No dashboard light no crank car does nothing when I put key in ignition

My 2000 ford expeditions dashboard lights won’t turn on. When I put the key in the ignition nothing happens. I was trying to start it with door open and then all this happened. After a while the door chime came back on and it wanted to crank a tiny bit then died again completely. Battery is good.

Check your Grounds and battery cables.
A Voltage Drop Test can do this easily. just need a digital volt meter.

That is exactly what happened to mine and when i replaced the battery it solved it.

I have a 2001 xlt that won't start, just had new cables put on, wondering if I have water issues with the GEM.

I want to post an update to my above post. My no start issue has been resolved by changing the ignition switch (under column). This is the solution to a problem I've had since Oct 2024. I searched this forum far and wide tried all the solutions. The passenger kick panel ground, tightening the shifter screws, even explored the water corrupted gem. To keep it concise, ignition switch.
