noise sounds like a chain

there is a noise in the front end that sounds like a bike chain that hasn't been oiled and i was wondering if any of you know what it could be. i'll try and put a link up for a sound clip tom. if i get a chance.

valve clatter? you've got enough oil in the engine right?

thanks i checked the oil and i was about 2 quarts low so that probably was the problem.
