Not starting the year out that great...

My 2002 XLT has been very needy lately. December I blew a plug out, middle of the night in BFE. Threads were stripped right out. The only part store open just sold 2 to the same guy the day before so I was out of luck. So glad I bought a Focus for the wife 2 weeks before this. Came down the next day with an insert kit. Turns out when the plug blew out it broke the connector lock on the COP, replaced that too.

January 6th the idler pulley started grinding worse then my mother in-law. Got so hot it melted part of the belt. At least it didn't leave me somewhere again.

Jan 8th Different plug blew out, left me at a McDonalds. Another insert.

Jan 9th Stuttering, misfire codes from same cylinder from the day before. The plug blow out must have killed the coil pack.

Jan 10th blew the newest insert with the new coil pack out while getting on 83. Limped the mile to a parking lot and started cussing. Just so happen to have a borescope that hooks to my phone. This time the insert took a chunk of the head with it.

So I guess it's time to get a head, have a shop do a bigger insert, part it out, or sell it outright.
In the mean time I used out vacation money and bought an 08 XLT police model. So I don't really NEED to keep it, but to just get rid of it seems like a waste of good new parts.
Starter, rear tires, lower control arms, entire rear suspension, etc.
I'll take any and all comments, condolences, ideas, and opinions.

The only time you really will have a bad day is when you wake up smelling dirt.....other than that - it is a good day, just room for improvement.

I forgot all about the expy too, it's not all that bad in my opinion... I still have my family whom are all healthy and safe and this is just another bump on the road.

Sometimes a year or day, starts out crappy, then turns out to be amazing. Hell I've had some of my best days on a Friday the 13th. Just watch out for that black Expedition!

Anytime I think I'm having a hard time or bad day I always remind myself I'm not in Afghanistan with a full pack being shot at from a mosque. For me, that puts my troubles in perspective.
