Hello group...I am new to this page as of 5 min ago. I recently purchased a 2011 Ford Expedition EL. I tow a 5800 lbs (max) camping trailer. I am looking for a way to monitor my trans temp through an OBD II Bluetooth module. Does anyone use something like that and what do you recommend?

Forscan is great! You can edit some electronic features with a laptop or use your smart phone for monitoring. This is the adapter I recommend

I have some insight on this. I have the obd link mx adapter. With torque you are unable to see trans temp. With the software that comes with the obd link won't see it also. Now the forscan will. So if I were you I would get the mx adapter and forscan. It take a little playing to understand how the interface in forscan works, but it does work good.

I was pulling a Roo 23SS hybrid travel trailer and curious what was going on with the drive train. I have the Interceptor gauge from my '07 just sitting here. Don't need it with my '17 as trans temp shows on the dash display. The Interceptor also displays transmission slip, cylinder head temp, and several other items. This was custom programmed at the makers to get some of the data to display. "Should" just plug into your OBD2 port and start displaying data.

I mounted it in a single gauge pod on the dashboard with double sided Velcro.

PM me if you want it. $0.00 It'll fit in a USPS flat rate box. You pay the postage.

Photobucket has blocked all my photos.

Photo sent from my iPhone.

Have a couple of photos of it on the dash board, but they're on a different computer and Photobucket doesn't work any more. :(

The display is red LED to avoid blinding me at night. See the linked website in my original note for details. My '07 with HD tow package kept everything in the normal range pulling my Roo 23SS travel trailer thru the PA mountains several times a year. The display just showed interesting but never alarming information. I monitored cylinder head temp and transmission temp and occasionally transmission slip but there rarely was any as the torque converter locked up promptly. Alarms can be set for various criteria.

I have Torque Pro on my Android head unit. Yes you can see trans temp with it. I have an ATOTO head unit and the OBDII adapter they sell with it. You just have to configure Torque pro with the Ford PIDS that come with it

Its real nice to have the temp readouts easy to see on the head unit while towing, no fiddling around with my phone. This is what it looks like, I do not have pic with the actual gauges displayingIMG_20170524_174309322.jpg
