I have a 2006 Eddie Bauer with the in dash 6 disk cd player with factory rear dvd.
my cd changer has not worked since i bought the truck a few months ago. however my radio worked great. but it is now dead. not even the buttons light up.
So i took it out opened up the radio. i was able to remove the cds stuck in the changer. i put everything back together and still nothing.

i checked the fuse and it was ok. (Number 7 (5amp) according to the owners manual.
not sure what to check next.

i dont want to loose the rear dvd by installing a after market stereo or by having to buy all the special connectors etc.
looking for an affordable fix first?
i took out the radio. and it was a refurbished unit from 2009
nothing smells fried. is there another fuse to check?
anyone have a factory unit they want to sell? or know of a nice unit that will allow my rear dvd to work.
i am big on the factory look. green backlight. if i were to go after market i would want a double din unit with touch screen. no cd player required just access for my iphone and am/fm radio. hopefully i can hook up the rear dvd and steering wheel controls. i dont need the rear dvd to play through the factory speakers as long as the headphones work i am good with that.

I replied to your PM regarding the aftermarket install, but I do have the OEM unit I pulled out if you would rather go that route. Let me know if you want it.
