I recently purchased a set of KC Daylighters, 100w. I ran the same lights on my 85 F350 and they made a huge difference. I installed them behind my grill on my 04 Expy, and I must say, I think the brights are brighter than the KCs. It may be because the grill is cutting down the light, the grill is shaped like a mini blind half closed...
I was thinking of swaping out the bulbs for 150w ones, and finding an alternate mounting location; (Thanks to SOLISIMO for the link in the other off road light thread)
I like the way the lights looks, but as far as funtion, I think the normal headlights are comperable. This is probably the case with all clear head lamps... Just wanted to share if anyone was wondering how the KCs are.

The 150w KC lights do not use a conventional bulb like your 100w lights do. The whole housing is one piece. Keep that in mind when making a decision.

I would agree that your grille is probably the issue. I have an 04 as well and purchased a Grille Guard for my lights to ensure I get 100% of the light from the KC's when I order them. So I would agree that an alternate mounting location would help.
