This might be a dumb question, but I'm coming up to my first oil change on my 2013 and I'm trying to figure out if the OLM ONLY tells me when to change the oil, or does it give me other maintenance items to do as well?

Eg. My wifes car tells her when to change the oil and also gives her a code that tells her to change the transmission fluid/diff fluid/air filter, or whatever.

I'm only asking because I'm planning to change it a bit before the OLM runs out and when I reset it early I might lose that code, and I don't want to skip an important maintenance item. (I've done this on my wifes car lol)

would suggest that you read the owners manual to get that information

Hi Mangina,

Your inquiry is not within my scope. However, your dealer is in the best position to assist. To help locate the nearest, please use this: Locate a Dealer Search | Official Site of Ford Vehicles | Ford.ca For questions and concerns in the future, please reach out to me, my friend.

The simple answer is the OLM only reports the oil life left. You should always reset it when the oil is changed.
