really? weird. i think mines has always burnt oil. it was a drug runner for part of its life. so we dont know how it was driven. but its been in this family for most of its life. but who knows. i think it always spitts it out. my oil pan isnt the cleanest thing in the world. it needs a good hot steam power wash.

Yeah, a small leak would do it, then again, a small leak does seem to get bigger over time.

I lose some oil in mine, but its from a small leak in my valve cover gasket. Its a very small leak, but its enough to leak onto my exhaust manifold and smell. Its a cheap fix, but I am going to wait until spring for some warmer temps.

yeah i dont blame you for wanting to do stuff. im in SD. the warmest part of the country and im cold. haha its like 67. the low here is like 43. thats hot in some parts of the country. haha i want it to snow in the mountains again or at least rain again. its cold and DRY here!

i change my oil every other month...in summer more.
i use 5 30 or sometimes 10 40 if no choice (free)....no probs. last 4 yrs. just regular "gulf"oil.....or quaker state i think is other brand. nothing fancy.oil filter every 2nd oil change.

if i had choice....i would go with high milage oil....but then again its how truck is used as well.


i c conbstruction trucks with same motor or the bigger v8 using cases of the good syntitic oil,cause owner has to get it delivered instead of stock oil(i use) and they have motor probs at times...issues.
