This is a 05 expedition, 5.4 L, Eddie Bauer my wife's dad gave her. We recently had to replace coils and plugs and serpentine belt and fuel pump and filter at dealer. It sounds like a diesel engine when running. Sound is coming from one of the wheels/shafts/bearing on the drivers side of engine that the serpentine belt turns. It is hard to pin it down just by listening to the noise. Should I loosen belt and then try to turn by hand different wheels?

Yeah. Take the belt off and spin the pullies by hand. If it's a bearing it'll be obvious.
