P0401 code

My expy has been parked for a really long time only on Sundays once a month I drive it around. I drove it today same as always and it throw P0401 code. but it came off when I drove it with the foot down for a few miles. What's the best thing to do? Replace egr valve and egr pressure sensor and clean the egr pipe?

Have the dpfe hoses been messed with any? I accidentally got mine backwards and had that code come up every drive I made (usually it would just be a pending code until the third cycle, then it would set the MIL)

as far as the parts, do what you wrote, in reverse order,

check for flow and valve function in one go. get a tube that will fit the egr then apply a light vacuum to it while running. the last time I did this check to a car it stalled it. it tests the flow and egr function at the same time. there is a video somewhere that shows a test on the dpfe sensor.

When mine did that (my dad owned it at the time) we put a new egr valve on it, but while installing it we noticed that the egr port on the intake was completely blocked with carbon buildup. We cleaned it out using an old gun cleaning kit, and continued with the egr replacement, so don't really know if the egr was needed or not. Good luck!

Thanks guys. I will take the egr valve off tomorrow when I come back from work see if its clogged and replace it. Could this be causing my hesitation around 45-55 mph? I had that proplom sense I bought it
