Pads and Rotors Replacement

I am proud new owner of a 04 Expedition EB (148,000 miles). My rotors are grooved on all for wheels a squeal when I apply the breaks. I am looking to get new rotors and pads for all 4 wheels. As I look on JC Whitney the choices become very overwhelming. Any suggestions? I do not want to spend a fortune but I also don't want crappy rotors. I do a LOT of highway driving and some back roads in the mountains. Thanks and look forward to being part of this forum.

I just did my brakes but I ordered from RockAuto.com. They have a lot of options, they also sell complete front and back kits with rotors and pads so its just one cart item. Might simplify your world.

I recommend Akebono Ceramics for the brake pads. You can't go wrong with Motorcraft on the rotors...
I buy most of my stuff from Rock Auto as well...

Most of my driving will be highway with a little bit of off road driving. What I am looking for is more than a brand but also a model/series. To the other reply, yes I plan on going with a ceramic pad.

Avoid slotted/drilled - a GOOD set of solid rotors will serve you well, if mated with a GOOD set of pads.

I've had a very good experience with Centric rotors and Hawk LTS pads. Firmer brake feel, better stopping plus the hat is coated so your wheel doesn't corrode to the rotor.

I disagree. You are supposed to avoid slotted AND drilled as they can (they used to) severely diminish contact area.

One OR the other is fine. And the good quality rotors made by reputable companies can achieve slotted AND drilled without an issue.

I disagree with both of you as I have slotted and drilled rotors and on 26 inch rims and love the stopping power...I put them one a couple wks before I put rims on and they stopped on a dime...virtually no brake dust which I love since I have chrome rims

FREEWAY, where did you get your slotted and drilled rotors from?
I had slotted and drilled rotors on my last vehicle and noticed the difference even before I put a set of stainless steal brakes lines on.

So I went with the middle of the road rotos and high end pads (front wheels). I went this way based off of advice from a coworker. After 3 weeks everything feels great, a little more pedal and much better breaking power without a squeak. What really kicked a$$ is I have done pads many times but never the rotos and took less than an hour to complete. I am the KING of my domain!!!!

Next month the rear wheels.
