Park assist help

Just got an 06 limited and the factory park assist, rear sensors aren't working. A warning says park assist failure and there's no warning beeps when you back up. What do I need to check to possibly fix this myself?

Check wiring at rear bumper for connections or broken wires also check fuse #27

Just in case - the first step I would take is ensure that each sensor is clean. They are the little round circles generally in the bumper area. I know this may seem elementary, obvious, etc, but..............
