2019 Limited...

I've looked around, can't find anything.

Is there a way to completely disable the Passenger Airbag On/Off light, without pulling the dash apart? Or am I looking at a Sharpie marker or black nail polish solution?

I do not like yellow alerts right in the middle of my stack.

Federal regulations require that a "telltale" light be illuminated whenever the airbag is off. So no, there is no way to turn it off.

I don't think he asked for the government regulation....

I'm sure you'll find there's a hack etc using Forscan or something similar. I would be a little leary of messing with the airbag system though. I think I'd put a cleanly cut piece of tape over the light or something similar if you don't want to see it. I don't know where the light is that you're looking at so I don't know how feasible that is.

He asked if there was a way to completely disable it without pulling the dash apart. I was responding that there is not a switch or a button or a lever or a clapper or a foot pedal or an alexa to turn it off...because the government requires it to be on.

So sure, there are ways to turn it off (black tape, a marker, paint, a 12 gauge, driving the vehicle into a quarry lake, napalm, etc). And he is more than happy to pursue those. I was simply telling him there is not a clean looking, non-invasive way to disable it.

A computer tells the light to turn on. Computers can always be hacked or reprogrammed etc. I'll let the computer geeks respond further...

I figured as much, but it also illuminates when ON. I know whether a passenger is sitting next to me or not.

There is a sensor in the seat to gauge when it's in use, which in turn tells the rig to arm the bag, display On or Off. I don't want to monkey with the sensor/airbag arming or deployment...I just don't want the dang light on all the time. If it's on all the time either way, and I come to ignore it, then it doesn't do any good.

Cover the "Off" section with black vinyl, etc. I suspect you'd like to know the airbag is functioning correctly when you have a passenger sitting in the seat, so I wouldn't cover the "On" section.
