I just purchased my second Expedition this one is a 2000 5.4L Eddie Bauer. The dealership just replaced the sunroof. When I test drove in a week ago all the dome lights were working correctly. The problem I have now (since the sunroof was replaced) is that the second rows dome light will not turn off unless you open the rear doors. Not only that, but the front dome lights and the running board light stay on very dim.
This has to be a wiring issue (I would think) maybe something not plug in correctly or just not plugged in.
Has anyone came across this kind of problem?

Thanks for your help

Please do not take this as criticism, but why not go back to the dealer and report the problem? Since it has occurred following the sunroof work they did for you, they should accept ownership of the dome malfunction. This is especially true if there is a leak in the new sunroof that is shorting out the light wiring.

My guess would be that is the rear lights stay on all the time but if you open the back hatch they turn off instead of coming on (I know they are already on) I would say yes something got plugged or wired up wrong when they fixed the sunroof for ya and that would likely create an issue with the other lights too. If they did not cut wires i would guess the fix is simple as a plug either in a wrong socket or flipped, if the cut wires then who knows but yeah I agree with another take it back and explain it was right before they worked on it so they need to correct it.

Thought of that

Bad Ronald,
I was going to do that but did not want to drive 45min away and leave my vehicle all day for something I could do myself. I am glad I trusted my instinct because it was a 5-10 min fix.
FYI, the left and right side second row interior lights are location specific, meaning left on left side and right on right sides of vehicle.
The technician had them swapped. So there must be some sort of resistor in one of the lights to make all the interior/running board light work all together correctly.
I am glad I did not waste a day leaving it with the dealership.
