Poor System Microphone Clarity

We recently changed to the new iPhone with a different carrier to get better cell coverage. At about the same time the Expedition received an update to the audio system. Ever since, no one can hear us over the microphone in the vehicle. We switch it to the phone speaker and everything is fine. I have no idea if it is the phone or the vehicle mic. Has anyone else had a problem like this and been able to fix it? I've done a phone restart and also a recent master reset on the Expedition, but still the same.

What year is your Expedition?

You may have to delete your phone from the phone list in the Expedition and then re-pair it.

Finally found some other references on this issue. Mine is a 25. Evidently it is a CarPlay issue, because when CarPlay is off it doesn't happen.

Turn off Carplay and use just the Expedition's generic bluetooth. That solve my problem although someone told me to try with the IOS 26.2 update which was released 2 weeks ago.
