Where is the best place to pull power and a reverse signal for the 7-pin connector on a 2017 xlt EL. Thanks.

Thanks. I realized after i posted that it was in the wrong section, but i couldn't figure out how to delete/move it.

Unless someone moved this it's in the 3d Gen section. 
Middle pin in the Bargman 7-pole connector is used by Ford for backup lights. The factory wiring is all via relays and fuses but you could tap off the truck's backup lights fairly easily.
Will take running the wires on your trailer. Rockwood uses a box under the trailer where the umbilical cord connects and the umbilical on my Roo included the wire to the center pole -- yellow as I recall.

Do you have the 4 pin flat or the 7 pin round? The orange wire I tapped is specifically to power a trailer. Take a look in the owners manual and it’ll provide you with the fuse location.

You can get a switchable power source from the 7 pin wiring harness ( for 07 Expedition it was either orange or black). I used the backup light wiring to get a reverse signal but you can also get that from the 7 pin wiring as has been mentioned.
A potential problem is the relay for the orange or black wire.....
Mine was orange... Appears Ford used orange or Black for battery charging. Also Ford at build time did not install the relay necessary to power the wire. If this is the case with yours go on line to buy it. Ford wants $45-$49 for it.
