I been having a intermittent problem with the Power Steering Control Module. Some cool mornings it seems to fail on first start. This inturn causes a bunch of ABS & IPC codes. The fix has been to let the engine warm up a bit, then restart. Everything magically goes away. The problem is getting worse. I need to actually fix it. I suspect a bad connection. In this latest failure the PSCM doesn't even respond to Forscan.

1. Where is the Power Steering Control Module?
2. Is the a place on the harness or a connector that is typically the root cause.

Update: Clean connectors on the EPAS. Unit is now intermittent.

PSCM: U3000:49-8B Internal Electronic Failure
IPC: U0131:00-08 Lost communication with PSCM
ABS: B1596 status -20

A restart cleared the PSCM problem. The two other codes disappeared.

Am I correct in assuming the PSCM/EPAS is NOT separate from the entire rack? The entire assembly is replaced as a single unit?

Hello, new to forum. Unfortunately, not to Expedition “electrical” issues. I just had the identical issue/codes thrown as CMC3, above. When it was very cold last week. Steering went “manual”, threw codes. Now, that it’s warmed up, I can’t get the steering to replicate. Drives fine. Any suggestions? Will I need to eventually replace the “steering control module”? If so, anyone dealt with this? Happen to have the part # handy? Appreciate any help.
Thanks, DoD
