Is there a harness available that has a pin for the steering wheel controls? I've been thinking of getting one of the cheaper Android auto/carplay radios that have built-in steering wheel calibration. I had to tap into a wire with my current radio and it glitches out too often.
2006, OEM was the six disc changer.

Check the Crutchfield.com web site. They will likely have an option or 2.

For my 2004 I used the Crux SWRFD-60L Wiring Interface for the steering wheel controls. It works okay, not perfect.

I think that is what I have now. Like you said, not perfect. The doubt in me thinks it's from the t-tap I used is not making good contact rather than an imperfect product.

I always cut and solder wires and yet I still have occasional incorrect response so it may not be your t-tap. I've always been suspect of the single wire control.
