Hey everyone, while I was driving today, out of no where the steering of my expedition start whining. Pulled over to check it out and it was half way in the reservoir. Only thing was, the liquid inside was bubbling, like boiling. That’s not normal? Any help in regards of what it could be.

If you're low on fluid you'll suck air into the system and it'll cause that frothy bubbling. Turn off the truck, let the air settle out, top off the fluid, and bleed the system with a few lock-to-lock turns.

Once that's done, start looking around for leaks. That fluid is going somewhere.

Ok Thank You, very much. I noticed that lately the last time I put steering fluid it’s still the same but on the front radiator or whatever it’s called has a lot of oil build up on the left side facing the expedition but not the other side.

You need a good degreaser, and go to a self serv car wash to get that gunk off

Sadly, the think tank at Ford put the power steering cooler in the A/C condenser on the Gen3 Expy, and it's very prone to cracking. That's why you see P/S fluid all over your AC condenser there. You can either replace your AC condenser ( and deal with the AC freon recharge issue....) or install an external P/S cooler like most people do. Get at least a 4 row cooler. The whining is not normal, and it's due to air entering the system from the cracked cooler.

Exactly what Hamfisted said. Bypass the factory cooler in the Radiator, and use this universal Hayden Transmission cooler as your Power Steering Cooler - https://www.amazon.com/Hayden-Autom..._rd_i=B000C39C86&psc=1&tag=expeditionforum-20

And change your Radiator fluid while you are at it, since some of the PS fluid could leak into your coolant.

The Gen3 P/S cooler is in the AC condenser, not the radiator. The radiator would be too easy. They wouldn't want that.

You Sir are correct. My bad. Sometimes hard to remember specifics about my previous 2010 EL Limited.
